All Things Automotive

I love cars!!  There’s just no other way to put it, I love cars! My love extends from Acuras to Zondas, the smallest classic MG to the behemoth Hummer, and everything between. I love the designs, the feel of the shaped metal, and the drive.  In my 35 years of driving, I have owned 26 cars.  The list includes Camaros, Firebirds, a Porsche, a BMW, a couple of Hondas, and a classic VW Bug.  Chevy leads the list, but imports have dominated over domestics.  Basically, if it’s got 4 wheels and a steering wheel, I’m a fan. 

The purpose for this blog is simple.  All Things Automotive will be just that. If it has to do with cars, I’ll talk about it here.  Want some tips on how to buy a car and deal with the salesman, look here.  Thinking about taking a long drive and looking for some travel ideas, I’ll tell you about some of my cross country trips. And what I’d recommend.

I’ve had a few car related jobs in my life.  My first job in high school was as a gas station attendant back in the day when gas stations were full service only. I was a driver for Supershuttle out of LAX years ago. I worked for Budget Rent a Car as a porter for a fun summer.  I even held what was my dream job in elementary school, a car salesman. 

I am a nut for car shows.  From the biggest, most attended events down to the impromptu weekend parking lot gatherings. I have attended the LA Auto Show since back in the 70’s with my father. I have been to auto races, including NASCAR, Formula 1 and drag races. By car shows I also mean shows on TV and cable.  To name a few (past and present): Top Gear (U.K.), Pinks and Pinks All Out, Pass Time, Pimp My Ride, and Overhaulin.  Don’t even get me started on TV shows that feature a car (Magnum and Knight Rider) or movies with lots of cars and/or chases (Fast & Furious Series, Bullitt). 

So that’s where we’ll begin.  I hope to add entries to this blog frequently and on a regular basis.  In any event, it will fun for me to write, and hopefully equally enjoyable for you to read.
